Severe thunderstorm watch widespread parts of eastern Colorado plains

3:35 p.m.: Tornado warning for southern El Paso County just east of Interstate 25 includes Fountain and Wigwam. The warning expires at 4:15 p.m.

3:40 p.m.: A severe thunderstorm warning north of Denver along the Interstate 25 corridor includes Loveland and Johnstown. The warning runs through 4:15 p.m., half dollar size hail and winds to 50 mph are expected

3:11 p.m. Tornado warning posted for El Paso County south of Ellicott through 3:45 p.m. Two-inch-sized hail possible in the storm.

3 p.m.: Severe thunderstorm warning posted for Ellicott area through 3:30 p.m. with 2-inch-sized hail possible. A tornado is also possible.

2:20 p.m.: Tornado warning posted for Black Forest and Monument areas through 2:30 p.m., half-dollar size hail is possible with storm.

2:20: p.m.: Tornado warning was posted for northeastern El Paso County through 2:15 p.m. where funnel clouds were spotted north of Peyton.

2:20 p.m.: A widespread severe thunderstorm watch is posted for most of the Eastern Plains and a stretch of the Front Range from Trinidad to Denver. The watch, posted by the National Weather Service, runs through 10 p.m. Scattered hail, perhaps up to softball-size, winds up to 70 mph and a “couple” of tornadoes are possible, including and area east of Colorado Springs, southeast of Castle Rock and west of Limon.

2:20 p.m.: A few severe storms are possible, mainly between 2 and 8 p.m., for widespread areas in Colorado, including the Eastern Plains, the Front Range and the urban corridor. Large hail — golf ball size — and winds to 70 mph are the main threats, according to the National Weather Service.
